Sen Jarigbe Agom Inspects Ogoja High Court After Fire Incident, Pledges ₦10 Million Support

As NBA Ogoja honours him with an Award of Distinguished Recognition
The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has visited the State High Court in Ogoja to carry out an on-the-spot assessment following the recent fire outbreak that destroyed the facility.
The court, located within the Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ogoja, was completely razed by the fire, leaving nothing salvageable.
Welcoming the Senator to the site, the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (Ogoja Branch), Barrister Mathias Adeshi, expressed appreciation for the Senator’s consistent support and commitment to the association. He explained that the NBA is currently making arrangements to use its Bar Centre as a temporary courtroom.
“This is our Bar Centre. As you can see, the facility behind you, which we previously used as a courtroom, has been completely destroyed. We are now managing a narrow hall for court sessions. Our plan is to complete the hall so it can serve as a temporary courtroom,” Adeshi stated.
In recognition of his dedication and contributions to the development of the senatorial district, the NBA Ogoja Branch presented Senator Jarigbe with an Award of Distinguished Recognition.
In his response, Senator Jarigbe thanked the NBA leadership for bringing the urgent need to his attention. He emphasized the importance of the judiciary in maintaining order and justice in society.
“This project is essential because without justice, society would descend into chaos, and the rule of law would be undermined,” he said.
The lawmaker also pledged a donation of ₦10 million to support the completion of the temporary court facility.
