Following his local government consultations across various LGAs, the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, paid separate courtesy visits to former Chairman of the old Ogoja Local Government Council, Mr. Oko Agabi, and Prince Abel Adinya in Bekwarra Local Government Area.
Welcoming the Senator and his entourage to his country home in Ugboro community, Mr. Agabi commended him for the numerous projects and human capital development initiatives he has attracted to the area. He noted that no previous senator has matched the lawmaker’s contributions to Cross River North Senatorial District.
Mr. Agabi further echoed the sentiments of Bekwarra elders, stating that Senator Jarigbe has every right to aspire to any position within Bekwarra, as he is a bona fide son of the community.
“I want to state clearly that you have the right to contest. We should not be in a hurry to discard one of our own. No one has the right to claim you are not from Bekwarra—you are one of us,” he said.
At the residence of Prince Abel Adinya in E’begang community, Senator Jarigbe addressed constituents and supporters, explaining that his visit was a courtesy call to a respected party leader and stakeholder in Bekwarra.
He emphasized his commitment to the community, highlighting his infrastructural projects as evidence of his dedication. The Senator added that his visit was not for campaign purposes, expressing confidence that when the time comes, the people will campaign for him based on their continued support and goodwill.
